TraumaPlay℠, formerly known as Flexibly Sequential Play Therapy (FSPT) places a high value on Parents as Partners. From the beginning of treatment our assessment includes parents, and potentially the entire family system. This hour will be spent looking at the Nurture House Dyadic Assessment (NHDA), a tool we have developed to help us get a first look at the healthy and potential problematic dimensions of the parent/child relationship. Adaptations will be offered as well as some help on pairing specific parent/child presentations with existing play therapy models.

  1. List three different forms of play that are being assessed in the NHDA.
  2. Describe three additional dyadic play therapy assessment tools
  3. Articulate three clinical presentations for parent/child dyads and play therapy
models that can be useful in treating each one
